Specific Conditions of Employment and Job Duties:


TOW TRUCK OPERATORS

In addition to the conditions of employment listed above, all truck operator candidates must also:

  • Be at least 21 years old (insurance requirement)
  • Have a clean and clear driving records (no points)
  • Have a current and up to date Chauffeurs License or CDL Class A, B or D
  • Have a current and up to date medical DOT card
  • Be willing to work in all types of weather (rain, sleet, snow, hot & cold)
  • Have commercial driving experience or vehicle mechanical knowledge
  • Have thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving
  • Have the ability to work independently and make independent judgements

Tow Truck Operator Job Duties

  • Driving a tow-truck to move motor vehicles damaged by accident, stalled, or ticketed by police for traffic violations. Receives calls and / or is dispatched to location by call center.
  • Attaching vehicles by means cable, chains, or other grappling devices, and hoisting vehicles using hand or powered winches to tow vehicles to the required destination or impounding area.

 


 

 

DISPATCHERS

In addition to the conditions of employment listed above, all dispatch candidates must also:

  • Have 1-3 years of related experience
  • Be able to multitask
  • Have excellent computer skills (experience with Microsof Office and Excel is a plus)
  • Have experience with dispatching software
  • Have excellent phone skills
  • Geographical knowledge of Detroit-metro area
  • Have a strong desire to help people and solve challenging problems

Dispatcher Job Duties

  • Supporting the towing, impound, emergency response and breakdown services
  • Timely and cost effective directing and dispatching tow trucks strategically while also providing customers with the best service
  • Performing tasks successfully and paying attention to detail while oftentimes working in a fast-paced environment
  • Multi-tasking effectively and making several correct decisions under pressure


 

PORTERS

Porter Duties

  • Release impounds at the request of office staff
  • Retrieve registration, insurance etc. from impounded vehicles per request of the office
  • Escorting vehicle owner only to their vehicle per office staff request to retrieve items out of their vehicles or to view only (following office staff instructions)
  • Escorting insurance adjusters to view vehicles
  • Park, take pictures & turn in impound cards to the office for incoming impounds when drivers are busy.
  • Clean & sweep floors in room one & two
  • Empty all cans in room one & two with assistance of other yard staff


CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE: VEHICLE RELEASE

In addition to the conditions of employment listed above, all release/cashier candidates must also:

  • Have 2-4 years of comparable work experience
  • Be able to multitask
  • Have excellent computer skills – experience with Microsoft Office and Excel is a MUST
  • Be able to type 50 words per minute
  • Have a strong desire to help people and solve challenging problems

Vehicle Release/Cashier Job Duties

  • Take incoming calls for towing service, police impounds and accidents
  • Take incoming calls for impound release questions that specifically relate to the laws regarding towing and impoundment
  • Perform releases and cashier duties for impounded vehicles
  • Process impoundment paperwork and maintain compliance with laws regarding towing and impoundment
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties
  • Assist with the abandoned vehicle auction management
  • Billing and collection of towing services
  • Cash and deposit management
